I was down 10 inches and 3 pounds.
Today, I got on the Treadclimber for the 1st time in forever. I did 517 (ish) on it and then I pushed the trendles down (to make it a treadmill) and walked for an hour and 7 minutes. It was 2.5 miles. I broke a sweat. It was good! My goal is to do this at least 3-4x a week. Maybe a goal for naptime if both babies go down at the same time. They say that the Treadclimber is "low impact," but, if you are out of shape, it is NOT low impact. It feels the same as an elliptical.. lung burn, ouchie knees and all !!!!
I didn't eat well today. We had mom & daughter day, and, I just didn't. Tomorrow is another day. I am proud of me!!!!

Wellness Bridge - Day 1
I went to see Judi today. It's exciting starting on this road to health again. I haven't seen her since the foster kids came (October 2010). There's no way I could've done this emotionally, physically, or logistically until now. I love that seeing her is like seeing a friend. I'm dehydrated, constipated, and just a mess on top of being sick and some other things... The lack-of-gallbladder and what it's done for me, specifically, complicates things. I am a few pounds lighter than last time and we made some goals for this week.
- Cut back on all soda consumption
- Cut out the sports drinks (gatorade/power ade) all together
- Fiber, fiber, fiber
- Good protein

The Wellness Bridge - Meet Judi Hladek, my hero!
The Wellness Bridge's mission statement is this...
"The Wellness Bridge will provide people with a connection between health
and wellness through education, motivation, guidance, encouragement, and compassion
so that they can help themselves achieve the goal of physical, psychological, and
spiritual wellness."
"The Wellness Bridge will empower people to be well in body, mind, and spirit now and in future generations...."
And she stands by that. In my weakest moments, she's there to help pick myself up and show me that we are all human. Sometimes, I am just going to eat that cookie. And that's okay. She put up with my times of resistance with a smile on her face and she's also the first person to enthusiastically congratulate me on my accomplishments, no matter how small or how large it may be.
What words could be said about Judi that could ever describe what she means to the people she helps... ? The people she helps to find the power inside of themselves to save their own lives... To "Be Well." Angel, mentor, coach, guide, teacher, miracle maker... Those would all cover how we feel about Judi. But, I am so, so honored to be able to call her my FRIEND...
A wise person once said, "To the world, you may be one person. But to one person, you may be the world." Judi, YOU have changed my life... just by being there, teaching me, listening to me when I needed that more, and believing in me. I could never say thank you enough for being my partner in saving my life and the lives of my children. I <3 you!!!

Tomorrow is the moment of truth (for the week)!
Tomorrow, I go to see Judi to get weighed, measured, and my coaching. I can't wait to see how I did. I made it to the gym 4x in the last week so far. I hope it's made a difference. Just 1 small problem. My monthly cycle is starting and I'm bloated. That's going to make my weight inaccurate. BLAH!!!
Today I bought a really cool scarf... in preparation for our trip to Gettysburg for the Paranormal State Field trip. SOOOOO excited. Here's a pic.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get Miss Judi in a picture so that I can introduce you to her on my blog :) I'm sure she'll be a sport :) Lovely lady that she is. I'll give a full report tomorrow.
I think that the Statin medication is working on my appetite. I haven't been really hungry since I started it, which is a good thing. I need all of the help I can get. LOL
Today, I did 30 mins on the treadmill and all of the weight machines. So, it was about an hour all together :)
Ta ta for now!

Welcome to my weightloss journey
How does one get to this place? I guess I should tell you a little about myself. There have been all kinds of journeys in my life. I have to say that this one has proven to be one of the hardest. There's no doubt in my mind. I am committed to not letting it beat me.
My life's personal journey thus far: I was born in Wheeling, WV 34 years ago. My parents "stayed married for the children" for 17 years. It was pure hell to grow up in that environment.
We lived next door to my beloved Grandmother, who saved me from many, many spankings. She passed away when I was 18 years old - 4 months after giving birth to my 1st daughter, Lauren.
Being married has had it share of bumps as well. I've been married twice. Once before graduating High School, which lasted nearly 5 years. We were divorced 8/18/97. I married my husband, David, on 8/29/97. Yes, 11 days later. We couldn't wait and the divorced had taken over a year. David and I have been married for 12 years. I love my husband so much. Even though he's not a "talker," he really is my rock.
Motherhood - Lauren was born in February of my Senior year. She's 16 now. Connor was soon to follow. He is 14. They were created in my 1st marriage. After Dave and I had been together about a year, we decided we would like to have a baby. That didn't go forth without significant struggles. Evan was born in November of '98. One more blessing rounded out our brood... Avery Morgan in August 2000. I have been a Mom as long as I can remember and for all of my adult life. Honestly, there are a few tweaks I would like to make, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I've also been a Gestational Surrogate. Gestational means that the carrier has no biological connection to the baby(ies). I delivered Joseph in 12/02 and twin sisters, Berley and Barney in 12/04. Next to my own family, this process is so near and dear to my heart. I began working for the largest surrogacy agency in the world in March 2006, but parted ways with them, on my decision, July 2009.
This leads me now to the purpose of my blog. Mostly everyone I know is obese to some degree. We lost my cousin Jeremy in 12/07 due to complications from Gastric Bypass surgery and obesity. Even the struggle that I witnessed with him has not been enough to make me put down the doughnut. I love carbs - bread, potatoes, rice, and red meat. Ooooh, and the doughnuts. I never, ever feel full. Adding this appetite to the stress and anxiety added at work, then add 4 years worth of emotional eating and Effexor to that... well... I was doomed. I'm a bit bigger now than I was when I delivered the twins at 32 weeks. Today, this is going to stop. I spoke with my doctor yesterday about all of this. He wouldn't give me any appetite suppressants because of my heart beating too quickly... so, I'm kinda on my own. I did do a program called "The Wellness Bridge" with which I did have some success before conceiving the twins, so I am wanting to try it again. I have made contact with them. I also looked into joining the gym at the local college and I have a Bowflex Treadclimer, which has become the proverbial clothes tree.
Today, I start my new life. I know that it won't be easy and there will be times where I will want to give up. But, I am committed and determined. My dr challenged me to lose 10 pounds before I see him again on November 3rd. Please send me good thoughts.
For now,
Christina xx
